Rising

This a piece I worked on over time in the background while I finished my piece entitled, "Coming Home". It was in process for years. Originally entitled, "A Bigger Pond" which was all about breaking out of confinement in order to grow. It then morphed into an urban landscape which I then called, "New Grid For Joy" which was all about soaking up life on a hot summer's day while enjoying the hum of a big city. I surprised myself by painting over most of it, ending up with this rendition which has a last building standing from an almost all consuming fire. It only survived because the heavens opened up with a deluge of rain. And these flowers are growing as tall as buildings now just like they did in my now painted over piece, " The Night Flowers." They are the same as the ones that grew in darkness there not needing anything but a supernatural source from within. Here these flowers are in the light of day ready to stand against the storm that is on the horizon. There is no doubt they will endure it. They were made for such a time as this, bending not breaking with the wind.
