Going Home

This painting began at a local art collective creative night. I then brought it home and turned it upside down to paint some lovely earthy green. It was drippy and messy and wonderful. I had started to paint this with a very bright yellow so when I added the green it started to look like a wooded glen at daybreak. It's a place where the light shines through revealing the way forward bit by bit, highlighting the mossy ground underfoot. The white bunny was the last thing I did, and it felt SO inspired. It gave the piece the context it needed. The bunny was on a path to better days. The days of hiding are over. Winter is done. Spring is on the horizon and the sun is coming up.
