Rest

I love this painting. It came together so quickly it surprised even me. When I drew the deer, it was just once in chalk and then I painted the outline in white and painted it in with one of my favourite colours. I think the lightness of the figure in its form speaks to how refreshed it is standing underneath the waterfall coming down the side of the rock face. This deer is entirely protected. It is standing amongst the flowers breathing in the beauty of its surroundings. Fully alive. Fully at peace.
